October 19 – In Step with Horses
We spent the afternoon grooming horses, leading miniature horses through an obstacle course, making Thank You cards, cleaning pastures and making friends. Our cubs and families made 60 Thank You cards that In Step with Horses can use to thank their supporters. We cleared the large pasture of hanging branches. Our cubs were able to get up close and personal with horses, miniatures horses, a goat and chickens.
In Step with Horses is driven by a single goal – to help people uncover their strengths, and re-balance their lives through a partnership with animals and nature. Horses instinctively read our emotions and intentions and consistently react, giving open and honest feedback. Their unconditional acceptance makes them uniquely gifted at supporting people who have experienced emotional and physical pain. In Step with Horses is a trauma informed organization engaging participants in sensory-based and mind-body activities with the support of carefully selected therapy horses. They provide services to First Responders and Veterans free of charge.
