Caring Cubs Fall 2023 Project

October 7, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  • « Caring for Rescued Reptiles & Amphibians
  • Caring Cubs Winter Project: Warm Hearts, Warm Hands »
Come join our Fall Project at the Brooklyn Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library!
We’ll celebrate kindness with a story, followed by project stations where cubs can give back to our community.  Projects include making toys for dogs, gratitude cards for veterans and assembling hygiene bags for homeless and missing youth.  We will be collecting items to include in the bags, such as:
  • New socks and gloves
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Bandages
  • Chapstick
  • Travel-sized deodorant
  • Travel-sized shampoo and conditioner
  • Travel-sized body wash
  • Travel-sized lotion
  • Travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Travel-sized brush/comb
  • Travel-sized wet wipes
The hygiene bags will be distributed by Bellefaire JCB’s Homeless and Missing Youth Program.  This Program was initiated in October 2006 through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to establish a program for homeless, missing, and runaway youth who are in need of crisis intervention, possible respite and case management. Today, the program serves approximately 4,000 teens, families and community members each year through initiatives including those listed below.
Gratitude cards will be delivered to Veterans Affairs (VA) Northeast Ohio Healthcare System.  The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System provides America’s Veterans with world-class health care, educates the next generation of providers, and pushes the limits of advance medical knowledge through research and partnerships. Above all else we honor and serve Those Who Have Served.
Dog Toys will be donated to the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter for pups waiting for adoption.
